The non-luxury buildings that are tough to crack but critical to decarbonize.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE CLEAN FIGHT?
Our goal is to help growth-stage clean buildings companies from around the world scale in New York, at speed. We do this by helping build deep relationships with customer and investor partners who can enable rapid growth. We’ve designed the program to be as efficient and effective as possible, offering the following tailored benefits: no relocation for program; no equity stake taken; hands-on matchmaking with industry-leading customer partners in a time-efficient format; non-dilutive grants available to fund resulting partnership agreements, bridge loans, or growth rounds ($1.25M available per cohort: companies can apply for up to $250k, but no funds are guaranteed); tailored support services to equip the company for scale ($25-30k in value per company); and, assistance navigating the
New York market from top regulators and industry experts. There will be 8-12 companies per cohort. Find out more about how to apply here.
WHAT FINANCIAL SUPPORT DOES THE CLEAN FIGHT PROVIDE?
The Clean Fight has $1.25M in non-dilutive grant money per cohort to fund pilots or other agreements resulting from the customer match-making aspect of the program. We can also fund bridge loans, and in certain cases participate in growth rounds. The grant program opens at the end of the program - around April/May 2022. If selected into the program, you are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $250k from this pool of funds, but no funds are guaranteed. There will be 8-12 companies per cohort. Grants require a 2:1 private match. This benefit is in addition to the $25-30k in value for each selected company for technical support resources, which does not require a match.

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAM?
Our program is anchored in helping you to establish your business in New York State, or if you're already here, helping you to scale further. In between summits you will follow up with customer partners, and our team will provide advice and help to move things along as you encounter road blocks. At the final summit you will look to finalize intentions with customer partners and share you solution with the broader market of customers and investors.
Programming will also take place at the summits to help you better understand the New York landscape. We'll look at the policy, regulatory, market, financing and incentives you should be aware of to be successful in New York. WHAT STAGE COMPANY ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
The Clean Fight helps growth-stage companies scale in New York. We define growth-stage as companies that display broad market adoption (~$1M+ in annual revenue from a diversified customer set in the last year or other clear signs of market adoption). Additionally, companies must be able to demonstrate sufficient runway to participate in the program from November 2021-April 2022.
WHAT TYPES OF CLEAN BUILDINGS COMPANIES ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
The Clean Fight is looking for clean buildings innovators with solutions that are ready to scale: products or services with proven efficacy, impact, and adoption that can quickly support a far bigger customer base. GHG impact, job creation, and speed of implementation are a few of our favorite things. Solutions for existing buildings and new construction are welcome.
We're particularly interested in solutions that will meaningfully decarbonize
mass-market buildings in the following ways:
Baseline Establishment (e.g., diagnose energy inefficiencies)
Building Optimization (e.g., reduce inefficiencies with real-time response)
Next-generation HVAC (e.g., heat pumps)
Envelope (e.g., reduce energy consumption/loss)
Zero-Carbon Energy Sources (e.g., eliminate fossil fuel use)
Resilience (e.g., grid outages)
Demand Response (e.g., grid flexibility and storage)
Building Maintenance (e.g., enable buildings to run at maximum efficiency)
Occupant Engagement (e.g., optimize energy usage)
Human Experience (e.g., improve wellness for tenants)
Embedded Carbon (e.g., low-carbon materials, modular construction)
Financial Innovation (e.g., turn-key project finance solutions)
If you have a solution outside of these areas, we encourage you to apply if you meet our other criteria.
Our focus is on mass-market buildings, in particular: multi-family (affordable and non-luxury market rate), Class B/C office and mixed use.
